Home Church Services Parish Community Ministry Directory About the Parish

ANY LEFT-OVERS?

Remember the Gospel of the multiplication of the fish and loafs? Our parish community offers many ways to share our “leftover time”, resources and
love. Ministries addressing loneliness, poverty, global solidarity, welcoming, refugees and many other needs would be blessed by your presence
and participation. Call and offer yourself and your “leftovers” to one of our outreach ministries. Your gifts will be multiplied and “distributed” to those in need and you will be blessed.

There are many opportunities to share a variety of gifts in our parish.

Highlited below are the most current ones identified. On the bulletin board in the foyer many wonderful opportunities to get involved in our faith community are also posted or alternately, visit our Ministry Directory page to view others.

To volunteer or obtain further information about any of the other Ministries or Groups, please call the Parish Coordinator @ Tel: 250.656-7433 (Office)

Fax: 250.483-1597 (Office) Email: Coordinator@spparish.com for a contact name and number.

DIOCESAN PASTORAL PLANNING UPDATE

The Diocesan Pastoral Planning Committee members would like to thank everyone who participated in the recent Pastoral Planning Questionnaire. Full results will be published in the March Diocesan Messenger. Various churches within the
Diocese are hosting meetings, which will provide an opportunity for prayer, discernment and discussions around the following six trends that emerged from the survey data:
· Youth and Young Adult Ministry
· Liturgy & Sacraments, Spirituality and Prayer
· Religious Education (Catechesis/Faith Formation)
· Marriage and Family
· Parish Outreach and Social Justice
· Stewardship & Finance
These sessions are being offered during Lent - a time of reflection and hope. The dates and times of these sessions have been posted on the bulletin board in the foyer.

SHARE LENT CAMPAIGN UPDATE

Please pick up a copy of your Share Lent Mini Magazine in the foyer after Mass.

In it you will read how Development and Peace is working with its local long-term partners in different countries to increase their access to food.

In Haiti we support a partner which has trained small-scale farmers in sustainable
ways to increase their yields.

PARISH PHOTO DIRECTORY

The parish council has approved a project to produce an updated parish photo directory. The last parish photo directory was completed in 2006.
Anyone interested in coordinating this effort is asked to contact Gary in the parish office at 250-656-7433, or email spparish@shaw.ca.

EUCHARISTIC HOME VISITORS WANTED !!!

Every week, our Parish makes a visit to the homes of parishioners who are unable to come to our weekend celebrations due to disability, age, sickness, etc.
On Thursday mornings our home visitors visit these parishioners to give them Communion, and also to provide a social visit. This social visit is most
important, as it may be the only visit they receive during the week, and this is their only connection with our Parish. Currently we visit 15 homes.
We have a great team of visitors who do a Eucharistic visit once per month. Our home visitors are very dedicated to this Ministry, however some of them
have been doing this for several years and would like to be relieved due to other commitments. We are looking for some new visitors.

Commitment: to do Eucharistic visits once a month on a Thurs. morning.
This is a very worthwhile Ministry, since these homebound parishioners are usually so very happy to see you, both to receive Communion and to have a social
visit. If you would like to become a home visitor, or would like more information, contact Gene Dizy at 250-656-0572 or email gedizy@shaw.ca.

SICK, HOME-BOUND, HOSPITAL VISITS

Please notify Fr. Rolf and/or the office (250-656-7433 or 250-652-1990) if someone is sick, home-bound or in hospital so that visits may be arranged

ANAWIM AUNTS OUTREACH PROJECT

Anawim Aunts is supporting St. Vincent de Paul’s outreach in downtown Victoria with toiletry kits. We are looking for deodorants, toothbrushes and washcloths. This would be a good way to use up your Optimum points from Shopper’s!
Other items being collected are small liquid hand washing soaps, pocket size packets of Kleenex and small chocolate or granola bars.

Thanks for your ongoing support

PLEASE HELP THE FITZAALAND’S

As you may recall Mary & Rick Fitzaaland’s 11 year old son Wade suffered a heart attack a few months ago and he requires around the clock care. If you wish to provide a casserole for the Fitzaaland family, they live at 2501 Shoreacres near St. Elizabeth's. If they’re not at home, leave the casserole on the bench by the front door.

For more Information: Call Barbara Nedzelski at 250-656-5768

Blessings!

FRIENDLY HOURS
NEWLY RETIRED or NEW TO THE PARISH......

(or long time member?) Friendly Hours is a gathering open to everyone in the community where a lunch of soup, bread, dessert, and beverages is served every Tues. and Thurs. between 11:30 and 1 p.m. The people who have joined us for lunch have all expressed an appreciation for what this ministry offers them. For Friendly Hours to continue we need more people who are willing to volunteer their time one morning a month to assist with preparing and making the soup, and with setting up. No experience is necessary! If you are interested in joining us in this important ministry, please call Rosemary 656-2903 or Josephine 656-4961.

Thank you.
